I went for a wander in a snow filled Glasgow with my Ricoh GR3. I tried to do a mixture of asked portraits and street photography.
EPISODE #021 “Last of Autumn”
On a cold early winter sunshine day. I challenged myself to capture the last of Autumn / Fall. Working with light and shadows, black & white and colour. As always I have my Ricoh GRiii with me, and together we explore the city streets of Glasgow.
Below are all the episodes of me setting myself, various street photography challenges. To give you ideas and an insight into my street work and thought process.
EPISODE #020 “Fog”
Anyone who knows me, will let you know I love, love FOG! We only get Fog in the our city a couple of times of the year. I woke up at 5am, had breakfast, then when I looked out the window at 5:30am I saw it was Foggy in the darkness. So I threw the clothes on, grabbed the camera and ran out the door into the Foggy realm. Which I loved every minute of it, until it disappeared around 11am.
EPISODE #019 “Rain”
I always shoot in RAW, however as a constrained creative choice, I selected an in camera, very high contrast black and white jpg format. I thoroughly enjoyed working in that limitation, with the day’s “Rain” challenge. Although as you will see in the video, I got soaked by a car going through a puddle.

I always shoot in RAW, so my challenge is to shoot street using the in camera “High Contrast” jpg setting. I love this restriction as it allows so much creativity, breaking down scenes into light and dark forms. Along with the combination of composition and timing. The staples of photography.
